Timeline of Events

  • April 16th, 2013 Writ was dropped for the election and on May 14th, 2013 Election called.
  • February 2013 - Ministry of Education requested that the VSB complete a Value Analysis of the preferred option. (The Value Analysis is completed after the election and results in no cost savings.)
  • October 2012 - Ministry of Education requested the scope of the project be limited to seismic upgrade only. Boiler removed from plan and the project is now at $29 million.
  • October 17, 2011 - VBE Board Meeting recommends the Preferred Definition report and submits it to the Ministry of Education.This was the timeline.
  • June 2011 - Open House and community feedback
  • December 6, 2010 - Capital Project Bylaw passed
  • December 2-3, 2009 - Community Display and community feedback
  • April 20, 2009 - Lord Strathcona Visioning Session with all stakeholders
